7:30 PM, Mellon Arena, Pittsburgh, PA
The Penguins start playing again after a little layoff when they welcome the Phoenix Coyotes to the Mellon Arena. Is this a trap game? After a close one with the Islanders this will be a big game to see how the team comes out to play. Will they come out and dominate like they should? Will they come out and lay back and take Phoenix lightly and get beat? Nobody knows. Who cares. The Penguins are up again.
I am a huge fan of all three teams here in Pittburgh. Right now, Penguins games are nice to not worry about the Steelers and get mid-week games that matter.
Hopefully the Penguins come out and take care of business. Even though it will be only the fourth game of the season the Flyers are on tap tomorrow. They beat the Caps last night in OT. Everyone knows how Pittsburgh feels about Philly. Lets take care of the Coyotes first though. One reason we know it’s big on Thursday? MAF isn’t playing tonight, Johnson is. We know why.
Phoenix comes in with a 1-0-0 record after only playing one game this season, and that was against Rob Scuderi and the LA Kings. The Coyotes won that contest 6-3. Radim Vrbata scored twice for the Coyotes as they put two goals on the board in each period.
All three of the Kings goals were on the power play as they went 3of-4 with the man advantage so it will be nice to see what the high powered Penguins power play might be able to do against the Coyotes.
Here go the lines for the Penguins tonight:
