Penguins Game Day 17 - @ Boston Bruins

Boston Bruins

7:00 PM, TD Bank Garden, Boston, MA

If you seriously thought the Penguins weren't going to lose two games in a row for an entire 82 game season than you haven't watched hockey in your entire life.

Disco got to the Penguins after Valentines Day last year and he has only lost like a combined 10 games since then. To be honest it is pretty remarkable we haven't had a long stretch of games in a row with a new coach and new system. Things like this happen during an 82 game season. It has happened before and this won't be the last time.

Here are the lines brought to you by the Penguins website:

Forwards
Cooke-Crosby-Fedotenko
Kunitz-Staal-Guerin
Conner-Adams-Dupuis
Bourque-Rupp-Godard

Defense
Orpik-Engelland
Eaton-Skoula
McKee-Goligoski

Netminder
Fleury

A big switch up in lines for tonight's game. Crosby wasn't getting it done with Kunitz and Guerin so he gets two new friends to play with. Tenk and Cook will team up with Sid. Tenk has been slumping big time so hopefully Sid can get him back into a groove to make up for the 27 players we are missing due to injury.

This is sort of old news but Tanger is going to be out for two weeks. He will be replaced by Engelland. To be honest this is kinda the best case for Tanger. When it was first out there that he was hurt most people thought this was going to be a four to six week thing. Two weeks seems light. Tang could miss around 8 games, which isn't even 10% of the season and by the time he is ready to come back so will Geno and Sarge will be right behind that. Looking good. Don't worry bout it.

An interesting fact that the Penguins website had was this:

2.38: The average number of goals scored per game by the Bruins in ’09-10, down almost a full goal per game compared to the 3.34 they averaged in ’08-09.

The Bruins have been strugglin a little bit. After a great start to last season and high expectations they failed. They are 7-7-2 this year so far and defeated Buffalo in their last match. They have some injury issues just like the Penguins.

Boston's best play in most regards, Marc Savard is out of the lineup along with David Krejci and Milan Lucic have been out.

Tim Thomas is still in net for Boston and to be honest I was never really sold on him. Just doesn't seem like the guy who can get you the big win. This season he is 4-6-1 with a 2.44 GAA and a .916 save percentage.

Should be an interesting game at TD. Hopefully the Penguins can get off their little two game losing streak. If they can't, no matter how the game goes, there will be people calling for Disco's head.

Lets Go Pens
