Ladies and gentlemen, Geno Malkin is back into the lineup tonight against the Boston Bruins. Geno has been out for two weeks with a shoulder problem but he said he feels good and from what I am hearing he looks good on the ice too. Uh oh. He will actually be paired with Sidney Crosby on the first line today. If they can't muster anything then I don't know what will.
Well you get some good news and then you get smacked in the face with some bad news. Chris Kunitz will be out of the lineup for two weeks with a "lower body injury". This means he probably hurt his ear doing something. So right now that is Letang, Gonchar, Talbot, Kennedy, Kunitz, Orpik. I mean you could start another team with that lineup.
Mark Letestu got called up and will replace Kunitz in the lineup. If you can remember Letestu was called up earlier this season, got to take a pregame skate, then was sent right back down to WBS.
Here are the lines from the Penguins site:
I can't wait to watch that first line play.
The Bruins are expected to start Tim Thomas in net and will still play without Lucic and Savard as they are on IR.
The Bruins shut out the Penguins 3-0 like two minutes ago at TD Bank and come in and look for the same today. Malkin has been waiting to come back ever since he went on the shelf two weeks ago. I would like to say I have a feeling about this game, but I have no idea. Hopefully Malkin can help on the power play. When he can play the half wall he can be very dangerous. We don't have another player that can do that on the half wall so this will make a world of difference.
Lets get this one.
