Quack Quack, Pens Win

I wasn't able to watch the entire game but from what I was able to see it was a very good game, from a very shorthanded team.

The Penguins jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead afer about six mintues and it was really over at that point.

The Ducks came out and scored a goal in the first to make the score 2-1 on a shortie from Todd Marchant but the Penguins clamped down and Jordan Staal returned the favor and got a shortie of his own early in the second period.

Martin Skoula scored his first of the season in the third to push the lead to 4-1 before Matt Cooke threw one into an empty net after a Ducks goal for the second win in as many days.

Deryk Engelland came in and got his first career point assisting on Jordan Staal's goal. Good for Deryk.

Although the Ducks are statistically the worst team in the West it was nice for the Penguins to come out and play solid hockey and dominate a team they were supposed to.

Mark Eaton really carried the load for the Penguin team tonight. Over 27 minutes of ice time and he was a +3 on the night. That is how you set up and how deep this team is. Eaton is a solid player that has really just got better every year.

MAF was solid too. He is not going to get a ton of shutouts but he is going to be solid. He will have games where he gives up two or three goals but he also plays pretty well. The Pens will get three or four goals and MAF will give up two or three and get the win. I am ok with that.

The Penguins resume later in the week but this was a real good win to get back on the winning track.
