Penguins Game Day 29 - New Jersey Devils

New Jersey Devils

7:00 p.m., CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh, PA

THANK GOD the Devils picked up Ilya Kovaljoke. That 11 points in 25 games is definatly worth losing draft picks from circumventing the salary cap and putting yourself in cap hell where you could only dress 15 players earlier in the season.

No Geno Malkin again tonight for the Penguins. I think they did alright without him in Columbus, but by no means does that mean this team will be ok without him for an extended period of time. Columbus is a fluttering team and the Penguins smelled the blood and pounced. Games against teams like Philadelphia, Washington and the Detroits of the NHL will not be as easy without Malkin being able to step up, even if Chris Osgood is in net.

The Devils? Talk about tailspin. 8-16-2 so far this season and have scored 30 less goals than their opponents have. Marty has been banged up and largely ineffective. Marty will not dress tonight as former Penguin Johan "Moose" Hedberg in the net.

Oh the good old days.
