Penguins Game Day 56 - vs. Los Angeles Kings

 Los Angeles Kings

7:00 p.m., CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh, PA
Well, tonight should be interesting shouldn't it? With Matt Cooke now suspended and Chris Kunitz out the next few games you will be seeing a lot of the opening day roster of WBS Penguins. Pretty unreal. Some teams have injury problems and then there are what the Penguins are going through.

Go ahead, take a look at the line pairings down below. Six NHL'ers and six AHL'ers for the forwards tonight for the Penguins. Now, I am not saying that these WBS guys are bad, because they definatly are good hockey players, but when your six NHL players are Staal, Talbox, Dupuis, Adams, Rupp and Kennedy then you know you are missing a good bit of players.

Don't get to play the Kings too often so it will be nice to see some Western Conference opponents.

The Kings were supposed to be a Cup contender but they have kinda struggled this season and are out of the playoff picture with a 29-22-2 record. They are a good team and it is going to be really tough for the Penguins, especially since they are so banged up. It doesn't get better since they have to turn around tomorrow and play a division game. Ugh.

Keep the faith. GMRS is sitting back and waiting to lay the smackdown.

Scuds better get a standing ovation. That would be nice. One of my favorite Pens while he was here.

The Penguins probables:

Pascal Dupuis- Jordan Staal - Tyler Kennedy
Mike Rupp - Max Talbot - Chris Conner
Brett Sterling - Dustin Jeffrey - Nick Johnson
Ryan Craig - Joe Vitale - Craig Adams

Brooks Orpik - Kris Letang
Paul Martin - Zbynek Michalek
Alex Goligoski - Ben Lovejoy

Marc Andre Fleury

For the Kings

Andrei Loktionov - Anze Kopitar - Dustin Brown
Ryan Smyth - Jarret Stoll - Justin Williams
Alexei Ponikarovsky - Michal Handzus - Wayne Simmonds
Kyle Clifford - Trevor Lewis - Brad Richardson

Willie Mitchell - Drew Doughty
Jack Johnson - Rob Scuderi
Alec Martinez - Matt Greene
