Penguins Game Day 10 - vs. New Jersey Devils

New Jersey Devils

7:00 p.m., CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh, PA

Pens and Devils for the first time this season. I am not sure what to think of the Devils because they have basically tried to be like eight different teams this season already so I don't know if they want to trap the hell out of you or if they want to try to score goals. They still have Ilya Kovalchuk for the next 15 years so that should be awesome.

Talking about Kovalchuk it is obvious he is a pretty big offensive target for the Devils and they are playing him accordingly. So far this season in five games Kovalchuk is playing an average of 28:06 minutes per game as a forward. Just let that sink in for a little bit. That is the second most minutes of any player as a forward. Kovy is actually the only foward in the top 45 ranked in terms of time on ice. Just rediculous amounts of ice time for the dude. In the last three games Kovy is averaging over 30 minutes of ice time. That is absurd for a forward.

So far this season Kovalchuk leads the Devils with five points (2+3) in five games. Like I said he is the most talented offensive player that they have. The Devils also have a Pittsburgh fan favorite on the team in forward Petr Sykora. Sykora was an intergral part of the Penguins through their Stanley Cup runs and really had a great report with the fans and the city.

Can anyone forget this?

I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing at the time. Unreal moment in Penguins history.

Here is the whole game. Unreal YouTube to watch:

MAF was just unreal.
