Penguins Game Day 12 - vs. New York Islanders

New York Islanders

7:00 p.m., CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh, PA

Nothing like the second day of a home-and-home with a team you just dismantled a few nights ago. I am not going to sit here and tell you that the Penguins are going to do the same thing tonight. Is Marc Andre Fleury 6-0-0 in his last six against the Islanders at home? Sure. Have the Penguins pretty much owned a pretty bad Islanders team over the recent past? Yea. That means little in a one game situation.

No hockey players wants to get shut out at home, even if it is only infront of 7,000 people. Expect the Islanders to come out with a ton of jump and to play its balls off to try and get the win tonight. The problem that the Islanders have is that they just aren't talented enough to come out and beat you and themselves at the same time. The Islanders looked disinterested on Tuesday and after they got behind by a goal they mailed it in.

They are going to come with it tonight so the start of this game is going to be huge. The Penguins have been a little sloppy to start most of the recent games but MAF has been there to bail them out. Hell, MAF has only given up two goals in his last 11 periods and stopped all 33 shots on Long Island Tuesday night. Not too shabby.

It is good to see Geno again in the lineup for a second straight game. The last time he came into the lineup it was against the Capitals and he then missed the next five games because he came back too quickly. Seeing him back on the ice for consecutive games is a pretty good sign, at least in my eyes.
