Penguins Game Day 4 - vs. Florida Panthers

Florida Panthers

7:30 p.m., CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh, PA

The Penguins open up its home schedule tonight when they take on the Florida Panthers at the CONSOL. It should be a packed house tonight and should be a really good atmosphere for the team as they will honor head coach Dan Bylsma before the game for his Jack Adams award last year.

Word is already out that Evgeni Malkin and Brooks Orpik will not be on the ice so that kind of sucks but from what the team is saying this isn't a serious injury for Malkin and we kind of knew that Orpik wasn't going to be ready for the start of the season. To be honest this is much of the same that the Penguins fans saw last year so it isn't like they aren't used to watching games without Malkin and Crosby in them.

There have been a ton of rumors about Crosby and he might see doctors and might be cleared for contact and this and that. I don't believe any of them until we actually have something confirmed. Some joke wants to go on twitter and ramble off stuff they think they know, that cool, but how about being in the ballpark of being right once? I would take anything you hear with the littlest grain of salt. It just isn't worth getting yourself worked up.

The lineup isn't going to dazel you with star power put there is a lot of grit and the guys in the lineup tonight are going to play Disco's system and from what we have seen in the past that might just be enough for them for a little while, but not for the long run.

I guess we shall see. Make sure to get to your TV early for all the pregame stuff that will [probably] be shown.
