Rashard Mendenhall: AFC Offensive Player of the Week
Well, good thing we didn't bench Mendenhall, huh? Today it was announced that the running back was named the AFC Offensive Player of the week for his 146 yard day he had against the Jacksonville Jaguars in a 17-13 win on Sunday. Mendenhall carried the ball 23 times and also scored a touchdown for the Steelers who are now 4-2 on the season.
Mendenhall was coming off a week where he didn't play against the Tennessee Titans with a bummed hamstring but it didn't seem to bother him at all. Mendenhall even ripped off a 68-yard run where his hammy looked just fine.
Mendenhall was the second Steelers player to win a Player of the Week honor as quaterback Ben Roethlisberger won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award last week for his performance against the Tennessee Titans. Not a bad couple of weeks for Steelers offensive players.
