San Jose Sharks
10:30 p.m., HP Pavilion, San Jose, CA
It feels like the Penguins haven't played in like three weeks but in all reality they played last week. After the unreal amount of games the Penguins played in the first month things finally slow down for them as they play tonight and Saturday night before getting another five days off before coming back to action at home on November 11 against the Stars.
Not much else going on in terms of injures. Bing is still practicing with the team and getting used to contact and stuff like that and Tyler Kennedy still is out with his symptoms from a concussion. Kris Letang hasn't practiced the past couple of days and there really isn't too much about why he was sitting out even though Disco said that it was just a "maintenance day" yesterday. Jordan Staal is a game time decision with his injury to his "lower body" from a game against the Islanders.
So far this season the Sharks are 6-4-0 but are always a good team in the regular season. Postseason, however, is a different story. Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski can be one of the best lines in hockey and Logan Couture is a really solid guy to have on the second line that can put the puck in the back of the net.
This is the second time that the Penguins will make the west coast swing and the last time they did that, to start the season, they played pretty well so hopefully they can pick up three of the four possible points between the Sharks tonight and the Kings on Saturday night.
