Penguins Game Day 26 - @ Washington Capitals

Washington Capitals

7:00 p.m., Verizon Center, Washington, D.C.
While there are a lot of people and blogger and media types that pump this game up like it is a do or die to get into the playoffs I do not think that this is such game. Is it always a little different playing play the Capitals? Maybe a little bit, but let's not kid ourselves this is a December 1st game, not the most important game of the season like some (Captials) people may make you think. The Penguins will once again be without Kris Letang and Zbynek Michalek as they will both be out at least another game with their respective injuries. The Penguins also made a pretty interesting move calling up Simon Despres and sending down Alex Picard before the game today. Picard was serviceable in an emergency situation against the Rangers but I think that the Depres call up might be for a little more offense from the blueline. Disco has already said that Depres will play on the second power play unit so that will be interesting. If/when you hear a ton of bells and fire sirens please do not think that you house is on fire. That is just coming from your TV from the over the top Verizon Center. I hate the Rangers goal song more than most but I don't even know how to classify what the Capitals do. It is like they get 18 clowns together in a room with a bunch of noise devices and just say "go to town for 30 seconds whenever we tell you." The Capitals will be in game number two under new head coach Dale Hunter. I am sure he is oging ot have them fired up for this one and you know the red clad fans in the Verizon Center are going to be ready for this one. Interesting to note that Bruce Boudreau was hired as the head coach for the Ducks. The season series (Washington leads 1-0) October 13, 2011 - Washington 3, Pittsburgh 2 (OT)
