Penguins Game Day 28 - vs. Boston Bruins

Boston Bruins

7:00 p.m., CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

What a week to be a Penguins fan, huh? First off you start the week off right by playing against the hottest team in hockey and maybe in all of sports in the Boston Bruins. They are 13-0-1 in their past 14 games and haven't lost a regulation game since October 29 when they lost to Montreal to fall to 3-7-0. Oh my how things can change.

The Bruins have two shootout wins during the streak and outscored opponents 64-25 which includes seven games of five goals or more and five games where they allowed one goal or less. Just unreal dominance.

Tim Thomas hasn't been in the net in almost a week and is one of the best in the leauge and as you can see from the numbers above the Bruins are putting the puck in the net a ton lately. MAF is going to have to be on his game tonight.

The Penguins were hit by the injury bug and will be missing three members of the blue line tonight. Kris Letang and Zbynek Michalek are both out with concussions and Deryk Engelland is out with a "lower body injury". I don't know how bad the concussions are with Letang and Michalek but I hope people don't think they will be out almost a year like Crosby. Every injury is different and everyone responds differently and we really don't know how bad each respective concussion is. I guess we will see.

Should be a really exciting game and that sets up for a wild Thursday night. I know not all of you follow all of the Pittsburgh sports but the Steelers/Browns game goes right up against Penguins/Flyers. Whoa. What a week.
