Should be an interesting contest today in Boston for a Penguins team that is on the slide and a Bruins team that has nothing to play for seeing as how they are going to be in the number two spot in the Eastern Conference no matter what. The Penguins still have a little something to play for as they have a slim shot to win the Atlantic but a lot would have to go in their favor in order to do that. It might not be as outlandish as you may think as both the Rangers have three contests left with one of those being against each other. One thing is for sure that the Penguins have to win out and have the Rangers not pick up a point. The Rangers square off against the Flyers tonight so that should be an interesting contest while they will play the Penguins on Thursday before closing the season against the Capitals.
Not saying that the Bruins are going to roll over for the Penguins but they do have the second seed in their pockets and might not be going balls to the wall like they would if they were fighting for their own division lead. Tonight they will be giving Tim Thomas a rest in favor of Marty Turco who has only been in the league for less than a month. The Penguins are going to go at the Bruins with Brent Johnson. An interesting choice but I think giving Flower another night off before going up against possible huge games against the Rangers and Flyers is the right thing to do. Marc Andre Fleury has been struggling as of recent so another game to clear his head is more than fine with me and it gives Beej another game back after missing a substantial amount of time due to a lower body injury.
I am not going to touch on the Milbury stuff. Doesn't deserve my time.
