Pirates Game 146 Recap - Pirates 3, Cubs 0

The game was delayed over three hours. The Pirates were in Chicago and if over 100 people stayed at Wrigley Field for the game I would be shocked. Both teams combined for seven hits and three runs. The Pirates had five of those hits and luckily all three of the runs. Multiple wins in a series feels kinda weird.

I am not going to even lie to you, I went to bed after three and a half innings. I was dog tired and even though I live in the Central time zone I wasn't going to stay up for this. If the Pirates would have been playing decent baseball I would have but they haven't. They have been playing bad baseball and it wasn't worth it. Like I said if this would have got them in a share for the Wild Card spot I would have but it wasn't. I did, however, wake up at 1:20 a.m. and drug myself out of bed to see if the game was still on. It was with one out in the top of the ninth. I stayed it just so I could say "Raise it." Am I crazy? Yea, probably. Whatever.

The Pirates got all three runs in the third inning. Starling Marte tripled home a pair of runs then Jose Tabata drove him home with a long double to centerfield.

Kevin Correia was pretty good from what I saw through almost four innings and then what I saw on the box score. Seven innings of shutout baseball giving up only a pair of hits to Darwin Barney and six strikeouts.

I consider this a no hitter since Darwin Barney isn't a real person.

If you are reading this after the game then I have mad props for you. This team somehow is only 2.5 games out of the playoffs. Don't ask me how but this series with the Brewers starting in like five minutes is HUGE.
