Tampa Bay Lightning

The Last Penguins Game
March 2, 2013 - Pittsburgh 7, Montreal 6 (OT) [Recap]

Well, things sure have been interesting in Penguins land today. I was out most of the last couple of days but things seems to be on high alert as there were a bunch of moves today that all boils down to pretty much nothing but I don't think that most are happy unless they have something to complain about. Yay sports!

The big news of the day is that Evgeni Malkin will be back on the ice for the first time since suffering a concussion on February 22 against the Panthers. I know there will probably be a lot of talk whether Malkin should be back playing or if he should sit out more games but in my opinion if he is ready and cleared to play then he should be in the lineup. Bottom line. Even the experts have a hard time trying to diagnose and explain concussions but they are getting much better at it. If they have determined that he is ready to play then he should play.

With Malkin coming back that meant that a few other moves had to be made. Zach Boychuk was placed on waivers but until he clears or is claimed he is still part of the roster so in a paper only move Beau Bennett was "sent down" to WBS but you have to assume that he will be right back up. This has made a lot of people angry since Tyler Kennedy is still getting ice time, which is a more than valid point.

Watch Kennedy play his first decent game of the season tonight.
