-The Pirates starting pitching staff really hasn't been all that good so far this season and while they are only averaging just under five innings an outing and if you have a feeling in your body that it may continue it wouldn't be far fetched. Jonathan Sanchez has two starts this year and totals 8.1 innings pitched and gave up 12 earned runs. Yikes.

-Jake Westbrook counters for the Cardinals and is coming off a complete game victory where he gave up only five hits in a 10-0 win over Cincinnati. He did walk four so maybe the Pirates could grab a few walks but the way they are swinging the bat they can hopefully make something happen.

-Westbrook started five games against the Pirates last season and the Bucs were able to get after him winning four of the five starts. He gave up 42 hits and 19 runs in 31.2 innings and saw Pirates hitters hit .328 off him.

-Not overly sure why Jose Tabata is starting over Travis Snider. I like Tabata and think he is going to have a much better year than last year but he hasn't been very good against right handed hitters over his career and Travis Snider has been playing some pretty good baseball, so, why not sit him on the bench. It is nice that Tabata is 3-of-8 against right handed pitchers this year but I am not sure that overrides his .705 career OPS against righties. I wouldn't have a huge problem with this at all if Snider was struggling, but he's not.
