-Shelby Miller is in his second year and is coming off a win over the Brewers where he went seven innings, struck out eight and gave up only one hit in a 2-0 Cardinals win. His WHIP this season is only 0.73 so the Pirates hitters are going to have to be on their 'A' game.
-Burnett was able to go six innings in his last outing but will be looked on to give the pen a break in this early season. In his last outing, a win over the Reds, he went six innings and gave up three earned runs while striking out eight hitters and giving up six hits.
-Matt Adams gets the start at first base for St. Louis. Adams is a product of the Pittsburgh area as he is from Philipsburg and attented Slippery Rock. Pretty cool for him.
-Starling Marte leads the NL in hits (20) and multi hit games (eight).
-The game will be carried on MLB Network since the Penguins are being televised on ROOT. Here is some information from the Pirates:
Tonight's broadcast: Direct TV subscribers in the Pittsburgh market can find the Bucs game on channel 214 & on DISH the channel is 478.— Pittsburgh Pirates (@Pirates) April 17, 2013
