Notes:

-Kris Medlen's last outing was a seven inning performance where he scattered six hits and let in a lone run while striking out five in a Braves win over the Royals.

-In Medlen's three starts this season the Braves have only given him five runs of support.

-Jonathan Sanchez has been pretty awful all season. In his last outing he lasted only 3.1 innings where he gave up eight hits and walked four while giving up nine earned runs. It hasn't been pretty this season for Sanchez as he continues to give up the free passes but this really isn't news. It's going to take a really good performance from him today for the Pirates to be able to get the series win.

-Last night was the first time this season the Braves have lost when scoring at least a run. It was also the first time they lost consecutive games.
