Notes:

-Shelby Miller has been doing a really nice job for the Cardinals this year but the Pirates were able to get to him this season when they defeated him on April 17 5-0. In that game Miller went six innings and struck out six hitters giving up six hits and two runs.

-Jeff Locke is coming off the best start of his young career in a 2-0 win over the Phillies on April 23. He went six innings, striking out six, walking two and only giving up two hits.

-It would be really nice to take two out of three from the Cardinals. The Pirates are already 4-2 on this road trip and to finish the first two series 5-2 would be really huge with a trip to Milwaukee coming up.

-Andrew McCutchen is out of the lineup. He has been struggling a bit at the plate and probably for the best to give him a full day off. Starling Marte will be in center which is where he probably should be to begin with. Unfortunatly this means that Garrett Jones has to play both the outfield. Not ideal but it is what it is.
