Notes:

-Pirates got on the winning side with a two hit performance from Wandy Rodriguez last night.
-Last season Travis Wood was 6-13 with a 4.27 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP.
-McDonald is really the swing man for the Pirates. If he can step up and give a solid performance then that will be great after the way he ended last season.
-So far this series the Cubs are 0-for-13 with eight strikeouts with runners in scoring position while the Pirates are only 2-of-13.
-Pirates with the lefty pitcher lineup today with Tabata playing in right and Alvarez sliding down a spot in the lineup.
-Interesting that Russell Martin is making the start considering this is a day game. I would assume that Hurdle wants him to catch McDonald as Martin handles the defensive duties very well.
-The Pirates were 29-26 in day game in 2012.
