Notes:

-Aaron Harang has struggled in a big way this year. His last outing was his best of the season when he went six innings and gave up only four hits and two runs against Baltimore. His previous two starts combined were only 7.2 innings, 14 hits, 13 runs, four walks, and six strikeouts.

-James McDonald has been just as big of a mess this season. This could be one of his final chances to stay in the rotation and after his last outing he wasn't giving the Pirates many reasons to find room for him. In a game against the Brewers (that I was at) he went five innings, gave up eight hits, and seven earned runs. Yikes.

-This is the first time Seattle and Pittsburgh are playing since 2007.

-Jason Bay and Oliver Perez play for Seattle.
