Pirates Game 35 Recap - Pirates 7, Mets 3

Didn't get to watch any of this game. Only got to see the box score about two or three times during the game and I have to say I liked what I saw.

Wandy Rodriguez bounced back in a big way with a solid six inning outing only giving up six hits and a lone run.

While Rodriguez was cruising the offense decided to come out and do what they couldn't do last night: knock around an average pitcher. Every starter but Andrew McCutchen and John McDonald had a hit and Garrett Jones and Starling Marte each had three hits while Pedro Alvarez and Jordy Mercer had two hits each. A different guy every night is doing it.

Still have no idea why McDonald is on the team.

Jason Grilli came on with the Pirates up four in the ninth inning with runners on first and second and two outs so he could get a save. When Clint Hurdle talks about managing his innings and outings this is the bullshit that pisses me off. You can say that he only three pitches but he also had to get full warmed up and ready. Don't pretend like that doesn't matter. While there was some struggle in the ninth it was still a four run game. Someone else can get one out. Hurdle is just so terrible at playing for the worthless stats like saves.

Count the win.
