-First off Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. Being a mom is probably the hardest job on the planet but they do a great job. Much love to my mother who is better than your mother.
-Matt Harvey is one of the best pitchers in the league and one that you probably haven't even hear of. Harvey has only gave up more than one run in an outing once this season and even then he only gave up three in a six inning start against the Dodgers where he gave up only four hits. His last start he went the distance in a 1-0 win over the White Sox. He struck out 12 and gave up only one hit. In seven starts his K:BB ratio is 58:12. Overall he has thrown 49.1 innings and given up only seven runs and 22 hits. He is very good.
-Jeanmar Gomez goes for the Pirates. Look up mismatch in the dictionary and you will probably see the preview for this game. Gomez has had some good starts for the Pirates. His was a five inning, two hit effort against Seattle that resulted in a Pirates win.
-Coming in I think that a split was the worst case scenario that the Pirates could do and right now they have at least that. A win today would be huge as Harvey has been exceptional this season but after the offense came out on fire yesterday hopefully they can continue that.
