Penguins Game 6 Preview - vs. Edmonton Oilers

Edmonton Oilers

7:00 p.m., CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh, PA

The Last Penguins Game:
October 12, 2013 - Pittsburgh 5, Tampa Bay 4 [Recap]

The Penguins outscored Tampa Bay on Saturday night and got a few days off for doing so. OK, well that isn't why they got a few days off but this is what happens when you don't have to squeeze 42 games in like 45 days like the NHL did last year.

The Penguins have some banged up bodies and are starting to get pretty short-handed. They placed James Neal on the IR today and they will be without Beau Bennett today. The Neal move to the IR really isn't that big of a deal considering that will be retroactive and he can come off pretty much any day so it was more of a chance to get a fresh body since Bennett is day-to-day. Harry Zolnierczyk was called up to play for Bennett. Who knows.

The Oilers have one win on the season and they aren't that good of a hockey team. They do rank 10th in the league in goals scored but they are also giving up a ton of goals (29th in league) so that isn't a good thing. They will [probably] be getting back 2012 first round pick Nail Yakupov back after he was a healthy scratch for the past two games. They also have Taylor Hall and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins so it isn't like the Oilers are totally starved for talent but there is a lot left to be desired on that roster.
