Penguins Game 17 Preview - @ St. Louis Blues

St. Louis Blues

8:00 p.m., Scottrade Center, Saint Louis, Missouri

The Last Penguins Game
November 6, 2013 - NY Rangers 5, Penguins 1 [Recap]

The Penguins are coming off getting their asses handed to them by the Rangers at MSG and are getting no favors by having to go to St. Louis and play a really, really good team in the Blues. I think we all know by now that the Western Conference is far better than the Eastern Conference and with that being said the Blues are 6-1-2 against the West so far this season and despite that stellar record they sit third in the Central Division. Yikes.

The Blues play defense. That is what they do and they are really good at it. They have given up only 33 goals this season which is the second-fewest in the Western Conference and have given up more than two goals only five times this season. Not only are they not allowing goals but they have one more goal scored than the Penguins in two less games. This is what we call a complete team.

The Penguins turned the puck over and looked really sloppy against New York and if they do the same thing tonight the 5-1 loss to the Rangers is going to look good compared to what the Blues can do.

Looks like Beau Bennett is going to be back on the second line. That is good. James Neal is getting closer as he is skating in practice but after taking a lot of time off and not skating it is going to take him a little longer to get close enough to game shape to be productive. Still good signs.
