Pirates Game 156 Recap - Pirates 1, Braves 0

The magic number is now two. Francisco Liriano came in and gave six innings of solid work which was followed by Jared Hughes, John Holdzkom, and Mark Melancon combined for three shutout innings to shut out the Braves for the fifth time in the last 10 games.

How did the Pirates win? This man:



Andrew McCutchen just does not care what you think. This man has been on point recently.



Liriano wasn't his best tonight as he walked four batters but he's been the best Pirates pitches among a bunch of guys that have been pretty damn good in the second half of the season. The division is still within reach and the Pirates are now fighting to host the Wild Card game for the second straight year. This is what it is all about.
